Culture Matters

We wrapped up our Dream On series this Sunday by looking at the culture God desires for his people. Not business culture or family culture, but the culture of the church, drawn straight from Acts 2:42-47.

We walked through the watermarks of the early church. Devotion to truth. The apostles’ teaching was central, because the Word is our means of knowing God. Fellowship that goes beyond Sunday. Breaking bread together, both in table fellowship and communion. Prayer fueling everything.

We talked about the radical generosity that marked the early believers. They sold their possessions and met each other’s needs. Not communism. Not forced. Grace-driven generosity. Because yes, we are our brother’s keeper.

We also named the threat. Radical individualism. The enemy wants us isolated and distracted. But from Genesis to Revelation, God’s design is for his people to be together, with him and with one another.
