Where Do We Go From Here

This week's passage: Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1-2

We started a new series this Sunday. Where Do We Go From Here. Three movements through the Great Commission and into Pentecost.

First, the commission. Jesus told His followers to go and make disciples. Not draw crowds. Not build programs. Make disciples. He modeled it Himself. 42 months with 12 people. Shared life. That’s the method.

Second, the wait. Right after saying “go,” Jesus said “wait.” Wait for the Spirit. Because calling without equipping is incomplete. The Spirit makes us witnesses, not salesmen. A witness tells what they’ve seen. A salesman has a pitch. Big difference.

Third, the power. Pentecost. The Spirit came, Peter preached, 3,000 believed. But then what? They devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Evangelism reached the crowd. Discipleship reached the person. And every believer can speak for upbuilding, encouragement, and consolation. No stage required.

Something to sit with this week:

Ships are safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for. Where is God calling you to go? And what might you need to wait for first?
